1. What can I get out of the Student Forum?
A: First, it's free and open to the public. Second, a lot of students love to read about Salsa, ask or discuss dance questions, or find out the latest news on where to party. Third, if you need to take a break from work, we have some distractions!
2. Where is it?
A: Open your favourite Browser, and type "http://forums.havanaestudio.com":
3. First time users need to Register.
4. Agree to the basic T&C.
5. Use an active email address, fill out form, and remember password!
6. Show email address, click "Yes".
7. Click "Submit".
8. Check your active email address' inbox, click on link to activate.
9. Login.
10. Here are some keys for reference:
Gold means new, white means old (since your last visit)
If you click on the gold doc icon, it will take you to new posts by Chin Lai, white means posts by Chin Lai you have read in this or a previous session.
11. For class news and announcements, go to Welcome... Announcements.
12. For news on Salsa Clubs, Studio Parties, etc., go to Salsa in KL... What's New.

Dear new members and loyal members of Havana Estudio's Student Forum @ MSN Groups. If you haven't already gotten my Announcement to all members, we are moving to a better Bulletin Board for the following reasons:
1. Very very slow technical help from MSN (no offence to the company);
2. Very very slow loading of pages, sometimes downtime, sometimes need to Refresh with F5;
3. Poor scalability, after 3 years, I think the bulk of the messages must be loading down the system;
4. Clean design and no advertisements;
5. Don't give private information and not dependent on MSN to function;
6. Very very simple and quick Register page, about 3 times as simple as MSN's .Net Passport method;
7. Less chance (maybe no chance) of garbage (format/code/junk) due to formatting incompatibilities; and
8. Simple, Basic, Clean, and Very fast.Created 13 Feb 2006 for the benefit of all Salsa dancers, Salsa fans, and those who wanna stay updated with what's new at Havana Estudio...
After 3 years of a lot of fun on MSN Groups setup, I realized that the only sure way to ensure that there are no technical glitches, well, is to set it up yourself. So, thanks to our Tech Expert, Chin Lai , here we are at our very own domain http://forums.havanaestudio.com!
I will be in the process of bringing over stuff from the MSN Group to here in the form of hesaid/shesaid/hesaid postings. So, everything'll be here from now on.
Registration is a lot easier and faster (sorry for those of you who have to re-register one more time), but the setup allows for years and years of fun without hard-to-reach tech support or ka$$ching into MSN's pockets.
... On middle right side, look for a Register button next to a Tick icon, quickly fill it out, and check out the interface.
This is a public Bulletin Board with no moderation, spammers and nasty-posters be warned, your service provider will be notified, and your IP will be noted and forwarded to the relevant authorities. For the most part, I'm not very worried, most of us in the Salsa scene are quite civil and cool... This is already in version 1.1 (1 major layout update). Please please email me what you think of the new interface.
